. . . The 1996 SIGGRAPH entry from Columbia's Digital Design Lab explores the Architecture of Decay in the unbuilt works of architects Giovanni Battista Piranesi and Lebbeus Woods. Both architects, who never saw the construction of their own designs, represent a tradition of visionary architecture previously limited to the surface of paper. Through their drawings these men evoked the potentials of the sublime. The graduate student creators take this one step further in the hopes of conveying how the computer has revolutionized their profession by allowing them to realize the unrealizable.
